Good Value Stereo: Sony 2-channel Receiver

If you are on a tight budget, you have to look at value.  If you are looking for a basic stereo for enjoying music, a basic 2-channel receiver from a reputable brand like Sony might be a good choice. For example, the Sony STRDH130 2 Channel Stereo Receiver produces a whopping 135 watts per channel.  That's enough to power a couple of very nice speakers.  It gets 4 stars on Amazon and isn't too expensive.


For many music lovers, a basic receiver is all you need to get started.  If you avoid becoming a bona fide audiophile, you can get years of enjoyment from a basic receiver. There is only one test. Does it sound good to you: Yes or No.

The Sherwood RX-4109 Receiver is Haunting Me

I've been playing around with a bedroom stereo system.  I've got little stereos.  I've got thrift store specials.  But, none of them really fits the bill.  So, I keep searching on Amazon and looking for something else.  I can't buy it now.  But, I can look at it.  That's why this stereo seems to be in every advertisement I see.  It's the Sherwood RX-4109 2-Channel Stereo Receiver.  It's a basic no frills receiver that looks like it will completely fit the bill.


Traditional stereo sound at a nice price. It might go very well with my record player!

A Dirt Cheap Stereo Deal - Sherwood Stereo Receiver for $84!

This is just a quick post to let you in on a dirt cheap two channel stereo receiver deal.  This week Amazon.com has a Sherwood RX-4109 105 Watt Stereo Receiver (Black) on sale for only $84.  According to the product description, the receiver actually delivers 105 watts per channel.  It also has a 30 station pre-sets and a sleep timer.  It looks like a nice deal on a basic two channel stereo.


If you are in the market for a dirt cheap stereo receiver, you might want to jump on this deal.  According to Amazon, this is about $56 off of the regular price.  I think this one has been discounted to about $104 for a couple of months.  But, this Sherwood Stereo price is the lowest that I've seen.  I'm not sure how long this price will last.
